Atlantic Corridor has since 2001 had strong links with the region of Upstate New York through the City of Buffalo, New York and recently additional partnership agreements have been signed with the City of Mesa, Arizona and the Atlanta, Georgia Branch of the Irish Chamber of Commerce in the USA. The link with Georgia is particularly important in light of the recent establishment of Georgia Tech Ireland in Athlone, which will generate much added-value development and research in the Irish Midlands. The expanded network of Atlantic Corridor gives us a wider geographical and sectoral reach in the USA. Upstate New York is a diverse and growing economy with a particular focus on the healthcare sector. Atlanta is the gateway to the South-Eastern States of the USA, including Georgia, Florida and the Carolinas. Mesa is the third largest city in Arizona and is one of the United States fastest-growing cities. Particular areas of interest for Atlantic Corridor in the USA are links and best practice in education, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, financial services, ICT and software and tourism.
