National Public Events

Demonstrate and Promote Best Practice in International Added Value Relationships between Ireland North & South, the USA & Canada.
Atlantic Corridor has proven the value of strategic international linkages.
The network of high impact contacts, the flow of added value communications and the partnering projects and initiatives are already delivering results. The objective of our bi-annual National Public Events is to bring together evidence of this success, create a greater awareness of the possibilities, add a greater number of active interested parties in Ireland North and South, and thereby build further live international projects for business, education and local development practice.
Our National Public Event in 2008 will examined the theme of Science Education Promotion, addressing “the quiet crisis” in education which is being caused by the falling numbers of those choosing to study science subjects.
Events such as this also involve identified follow-on actions between partners, which is facilitated by Atlantic Corridor.
Our next National Public Event will take place in early 2010 and will be a follow-on Conference focusing again on the importance of maths, science and engineering for our economy and society. Speakers from each Atlantic Corridor partner region will again participate in the event and associated actions, adding international experience and expertise to this important initiative.
