Dr Pat Mulhern, Chairperson of Atlantic Corridor.

Dr Pat Mulhern is Chairperson of Atlantic Corridor.  A former Director of Development at Athlone Institute of Technology, he also acted as Head of AIT’s School of Engineering for 15 years. He is also Chairperson of Roscommon County Enterprise Board and of Líonra’s  Operational Committee which is the Regional Network of Higher Education Institutions in the borders-midlands and west  region of Ireland. Dr Mulhern is also a member of the New York Academy of Science and is also a member of numerous committees in the Higher Education/Research domain. Dr Mulhern holds a BSc (Hons) degree in Physics from NUI Galway and a PhD degree from Liverpool University in Nuclear Structure Physics. 

 

Brian Garvan, Executive Director

Brian Garvan comes to Atlantic Corridor with 27 years experience working with IDA Ireland, including six years at the IDA office in Chicago and several years as Manager of the International Services Division of IDA Ireland. He has extensive experience of business development, covering both the multi-national sector and indigenous development of SME's. A qualified Accountant by profession he also worked as an advisor on economic development to the Government of Bahrain for four years. He can be contacted at bgarvan@atlanticcorridor.ie.

Jackie Gorman, CEO

Jackie Gorman comes to Atlantic Corridor with several years of experience working in local development and in the multi-national and indigeneous enterprise sectors.  She also has international experience, having worked in The Gambia, West Africa from 1999 to 2001 through the Irish Government’s Development Assistance Programme on issues relating to economic and enterprise development. She has Degrees in Business & Human Geography and a Masters Degree in Development Studies from AIT and the Open University. She undertook a Diploma in Community Development at NUIG and further studies at the Irish Marketing Institute and she speaks German. She can be contacted at jgorman@atlanticcorridor.ie

Karen Cunningham, Projects Executive

Karen Cunningham joined Atlantic Corridor in 2009. She brings with her a wealth of experience having been self employed since she completed her studies in Athlone Institute of Technology in 2003. Karen has worked on various high profile projects including Waterways Ireland triAthlone, Midlands Gateway Chamber Ambassadors Ball and many others. In her spare time Karen is dedicated to working on some of her charity projects including the South Westmeath hospice and Rotary. She can be contacted on kcunningham@atlanticcorridor.ie
